The Central Bank of Ireland launched its Innovation Hub in 2018 and has sought to develop its capabilities and reach in line with the continuous development of the fintech innovation ecosystem.
It has recently launched the Consultation Paper 156, “Central Bank approach to innovation engagement in financial services” and now seeks feedback from the community.
Blockchain Ireland is delighted to host Eoin Fitzgerald, senior innovation engagement specialist, Supervisory Risk & Horizontal Division, Central Bank of Ireland, to talk about the work of the Innovation Hub, its success and development and its efforts to deepen understanding of innovation in the financial services sector, in order to understand the opportunities and risks for consumers and the economy.
Eoin will discuss the consultation paper and how the community can get involved.

Eoin joined the Central Bank in July 2023 as part of the newly established Innovation Strategy team and his role involves leading out on ecosystem and innovation engagement.
Eoin previously worked for six years as a Senior Development Adviser with Enterprise Ireland supporting Fintech startups.
Eoin has also worked in a variety of local and international banks such as Barclays, Deutsche Bank and AIB as well as with an early stage fintech startup, Future Finance.
Eoin was previously on the Advisory Board of Blockchain Ireland and has recently joined the board of MERITS Innovation Hub in Kildare.
