Crypto-related job postings rose sharply last year, according to LinkedIn News.
The news report says that job postings with titles containing terms such as “bitcoin,” “ethereum,” “blockchain” and “cryptocurrency” grew 395% in the US from 2020 to 2021, outpacing the wider tech industry which saw a 98% increase in listings during the same time period, and “pointing to disruption across industries”.
The majority of postings were unsurprisingly in software and finance, though other industries also saw a rise in demand for crypto talent, such as professional services (accounting and consulting), as well as the staffing and computer hardware sectors. Of the roles themselves, some of the most common titles included blockchain developers and engineers.
The report suggests the drive for talent is prompted by an influx of funding, citing data from PitchBook that said investors worldwide poured $30 billion into crypto and blockchain start-ups in 2021
