Blockchain Ireland would like to extend congratulations and thanks to Minister Michael McGrath on his nomination as Ireland’s next European Commissioner.

Minister McGrath has been a strong supporter of the blockchain, crypto, and Web3 communities in Ireland, and Blockchain Ireland. The minister recently spoke on the opening day of Blockchain Ireland Week in Dublin, acknowledging Ireland’s position as a leading global fintech, startups and innovation hub.

“We wish the minister well in Brussels and thank him for his support in his years of office,” said Lory Kehoe, chairperson, Blockchain Ireland. “With such visible support from government, we are enabled to engage at the highest levels to continually develop Ireland as a global hub for blockchain, crypto, and Web3.”

Blockchain Ireland also welcomes the appointment of Minister Jack Chambers as Minister for Finance.

“We look forward to a strong and productive relationship with the new minister,” said Kehoe. “We welcome the opportunity to brief the minister in his new role on the vibrant ecosystem and continual innovation in our sector that will help to propel Ireland in the growing digital economy.”
